Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS) Healthwise Training Services has made a commitment to deliver quality training. For our work on Alcohol and Drugs this has meant redesigning our training content and delivery systems to ensure that each course makes a positive and measurable contribution to the delivery of relevant DANOS units. All our programmes now include specified learning objectives linked to the appropriate DANOS units. This course supports the attainment of the following DANOS Units:
AB1: Support individuals when they are distressed AB2: Support individuals who are substance users This programme is aimed at anyone who wishes to increase their knowledge of basic counselling skills such as active listening, increasing empathy and keeping a safe working environment. It is eminently suitable for anyone working with young people such as youth workers, teachers, school nurses, Connexions and people working on telephone helplines aimed at young people. It assumes no prior knowledge on the part of the participants. All participants completing this course will receive a certificate of attendance and a comprehensive portfolio of information for future reference in a binder.
