Alex Mitchell Alex MitchellAlex has a background within community care having worked within the drug, alcohol and sexual health field since 1999. Alex worked as a supervisor and trainer for the National Drugs Helpline, National AIDS Helpline and the England and Wales Alcohol Helpline. During this time she was responsible for the support, personal training and development plans for the bank of advisors staffing the helplines. For the past four years Alex has been involved in the planning, development and delivery of drug, alcohol and sexual health training programmes for a wide variety of professionals working within the public, private and voluntary sector. Delivery target groups have included nurses, social workers, probation workers, youth workers, teachers and a range of individuals from community organisations. Alex’s areas of particular interest are ‘Women, Drug Use and Pregnancy’ and ‘Crack and Cocaine’ Alex has a 730/7 Teacher Training Certificate, the National Examination Board in Supervisory Management (NEBS) and Certificates in Drug, Alcohol and Sexual Health Education.
Paula McDowell Paula McDowellPaula has worked within the drug, alcohol and sexual health field since 1999. She previously worked as a Team Leader for the National Drugs Helpline, National AIDS Helpline and the England and Wales Alcohol Helpline. During this time she was responsible for the support and personal training and development plans for the bank of advisors staffing the helplines. For the past three years Paula has been involved in the planning, development and delivery of drug, alcohol and sexual health training programmes for a wide variety of professionals working within the public, private and voluntary sector. Delivery target groups have included nurses, social workers, probation workers, youth workers, teachers and a range of individuals from community organisations. Paula’s particular areas of interest are ‘Motivational Interviewing’ and delivery of the NCFE Level 2 qualification in Drug Awareness. Paula has a 730/7 Teacher Training Certificate and Certificates in Drug, Alcohol and Sexual Health Education. Paula has worked recently with both Primary and Secondary School teachers in developing PSHE educational materials on drugs, alcohol,tobacco and PSHCE. |
