Aims This programme aims to increase participants knowledge and understanding of sexual health, sensitive issues such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV and methods of contraception. It further aims to look at the prevalence of the various STIs (including HIV/AIDS), biology, symptoms and treatments.

It demands no previous knowledge on behalf of the participants and will form a good basis and grounding in this area. It is suitable for anyone who works with sexually active young people or adults, SRE or PSHCE staff, staff working in an advice or information setting, staff involved in free condom services or new staff in sexual health advice agencies. It is also suitable for direct delivery to young people themselves. All participants completing this course will receive a certificate of attendance and a comprehensive portfolio of information for future reference in a binder.
