The programme aims to develop and increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of the blood borne viruses - hepatitis and HIV. This will include highlighting current treatments and raising awareness of the health and safety issues. It also aims to provide the participants with a working knowledge of MRSA (Methycillin Resistant Stapphylococcus Aureus) and the current health and safety measures recommended to avoid spread of infection.

This programme is aimed at anyone working with patients or clients who are infected or who may be infected, with MRSA or a blood borne virus such as hepatitis or HIV. It gives practical advice and is participant friendly explaining all concepts in easy to understand terms with minimal jargon use. Learning is measured by each participant as the course progresses by means of simple multiple choice quizzes completed in pairs in a non-threatening environment. We have delivered this programme to Health Care Workers, those working in Care Homes and in domiciliary settings. All participants completing this course will receive a certificate of attendance and a portfolio of information for future reference in a binder.
