Healthwise Training Services has successfully completed their commitment to deliver quality training. For all our performance work on drugs and alcohol education we have acheived our aim of redisigning our training content and delivery systems, to ensure that each of our programmes successfully makes a positive contribution to the delivery of relevant DANOS units. Each programme we deliver and all of the individual sessions on our courses have specified learning objectives linked to the appropriate DANOS units.

Our evaluation methods give course participants the opportunity to rate the programme on the achievement of learning in support of DANOS units and the agreed learning objectives. For more information about our evaluation methods please see methodology. Completed course evaluation forms will be made available to organisations which fund commission-based training programmes.

The following indicators outline a comprehensive explanation of each of the DANOS units that are currently relevant to our programmes.

AB7	Provide services to those affected by someone else’s substance use
AC1	Develop your own knowledge and practice
AC3	Contribute to the development of the knowledge and practice of others
AC4	Support and challenge workers on specific aspects of their practice
AD1	Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
AD2	Facilitate learning through presentations and activities
AD3	Facilitate group learning
AD4	Develop and disseminate information and advice about substance use, health and social wellbeing
AF1	Carry out screening and referral assessment
AF2	Carry out assessment to identify and prioritise need
AF3	Carry out comprehensive substance misuse assessment
AG1	Plan and agree service responses which meet individuals identified needs and circumstances
AG3	Assist in the transfer of individuals between agencies and services
AH3	Supply and exchange injecting equipment for individuals
AH10	Carry out brief interventions with alcohol users
AI2	Help individuals address their substance use through an action plan
